Report | History with Memory in Education: Reflections and Outcomes

Between November 14 and 16, 2024, over 400 teachers and students from all educational levels—from early childhood and primary education to university, vocational training, and non-formal education—gathered in Pamplona/Iruña to continue the momentum of the successful 2022 conference.

This diverse group represented 10 countries and 15 autonomous communities within Spain, spanning various sectors and administrations. Despite the differences, participants shared a unifying goal: to develop educational projects and strategies that place memory and the lessons of our past at the heart of their actions. Together, they reflected, debated, and collaborated on ways to integrate memory into education, fostering critical thinking and a deeper understanding of history among learners of all ages.

The conference reaffirmed the importance of collective efforts to ensure that memory becomes a transformative tool in education, shaping a more informed and empathetic future.

A comprehensive report featuring the event’s conclusions and videos of the different sessions are now available on the conference website.
