“Generacions TOP“ is a compelling journey through the social history of the late Franco regime and the democratic transition in Spain. This temporary exhibition focuses on the daily acts of resistance and the vital role played by organized citizens, while also shedding light on the repressive structures of the Franco regime and its leaders.
It chronicles the social struggles that paved the way for rights and freedoms, asserting democracy as a hard-won collective achievement. By inviting the public to reflect on this pivotal era, the exhibition honors the democratic memory of the country, revealing how ordinary people rose against repression and dictatorship to build a more just and free society. It serves as a heartfelt tribute to those who defended dignity and freedom during one of the darkest chapters in our history.
Organized by the Catalan Association of Former Political Prisoners of Francoism, in collaboration with EUROM, the Cipriano García Foundation of Workers’ Commissions, the Library of the Republic Pavilion of the University of Barcelona, and the Democratic Memorial of Catalonia.
