Coinciding with the commemorations of Europe Day, the Office of the European Parliament in Paris will host a preview presentation of our book “Ten Elections. A brief history of the European suffrage (1979-2024)”. Published by the Maison Jean Monnet of the European and the EUROM, this new publication brings scientific analysis and testimonies from former MEPs and traces the history of European democratic participation from its origins to nowadays.
The public event will take place on May 8 at 5 pm at Europe Experience in Paris, and will mark the beginning of the second edition of the School on European Memories.
Ten Elections. A history of the European Parliament at the ballot box (1979-2024) is the third of a series of commemorative publications promoted by the Jean Monnet House of the European Parliament and the European Observatory on Memories of the University of Barcelona’s Solidarity Foundation in collaboration with the Istituto di Studi Federalisti Altiero Spinelli and with the support of the programme Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) of the European Commission.
The book and online publication will be available on our website.
