The banished presents
- The second edition of “Route to exile” will gather 40 young people from all over Spain from July 15 to 30 on a tour to the main places of memory of the Spanish Republican exile;
- During this 15-day summer educational project, they will participate in workshops and socio-cultural activities aimed to provide them with the tools to establish connections between stories of the past, events of the present, and imaginaries of the future, promoting their civic spirit and active participation in resolving current conflicts;
- Promoted by Spain’s Institute of Youth (INJUVE) and the EUROM, Route to Exile is organized by the Association be Wild be Proud and financed by the Ministry of Social Rights and the 2030 Agenda with the collaboration of the Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation.
The training curriculum of this second edition investigates not only the causes and consequences of the Spanish republican exile but also the processes of memory reconstruction and construction of national identity in Spain, comparing them with similar processes in other countries.
