The University of Barcelona hosts the 7th edition of the advanced training seminar “The Holocaust as Starting Point”, organized by the EUROM and the Memorial de la Shoah in collaboration with Memoshoa Portugal and the Democratic Memorial of Catalonia. The three-day meeting will gather 45 teachers from France, Portugal and Spain in a dialogue on the history and memory of slavery.
The event aims at sharing pedagogical tools to deal with racial discrimination and antisemitism in the classroom, as well as at deepening on key issues related to the history of slavery and mass crimes. Pierre-Yves Bocquet, director of the Remembrance of Slavery Foundation, will deliver the workshop “Crime against humanity vs. genocide; a clash of Memories?”.
