Franco 4040: Francoism under quarantine. 40 years of dictatorship after 40 years of democracy

Conferences, Movies and Exhibition

On November 20, Spain commemorates the 40th anniversary of the end of the last dictatorship in Western Europe. Francisco Franco died on such a day in 1975 leaving behind almost 40 years of repression. 40 years later Spain still deals with its consequences.

Franco 40/40 is a series of academic and cultural activities aimed to put Francoism in quarantine, deepening on the significance of this long and overwhelming period that started with the Spanish Civil War and lasted until the death of the dictator.
