- The Faculty of History and Geography of the University of Barcelona holds an international seminar to discuss the history of transatlantic slavery;
- The opening lecture will be delivered by Myriam Cottias, director of the Centre International de Recherches sur les esclavages et post-esclavages (CIRESC- CNRS) who will address the stories of the lives of slaves through a planter’s diary
- Historian Michael Zeuske, author of “Slavery: a history of mankind” and a professor at the University of Bonn, will deliver a keynote on the first and second slavery in the Atlanticization of the Caribbean
- The program has been organized in collaboration with the EUROM, the Foundation Cipriano García, the Ateneu de Memòria Popular, and the Commissioner for Democratic Memory of the City Council of Barcelona.
