Following the tradition initiated years ago by Josep Maria Caparrós, this tenth edition takes as its central theme the Spanish Civil War: 90 Years of Audiovisual Memory. The congress aims to be a space for debate and analysis around the cinematographic and audiovisual representations generated by the Spanish Civil War — from propaganda cinema, newsreels and other film productions created during the conflict, to more recent retrospective perspectives.
The congress also seeks to reflect on the fundamental role that cinema has played in reinterpreting the causes and consequences of the Civil War, its memorial legacy, and its uses in the fields of education, cultural policy, and historical dissemination projects. It brings together specialists, institutions, associations, and researchers from a range of disciplines.
