The conference “Political memories, borders and memorial tourism” is one of the activities of the project “Memories of the European Borders”, which aims to promote the transfer and exchange of knowledge in the field of tourism memorial, placing borders as a place of analysis.
The research group ISOCAC of the University Rovira i Virgili organizes the international conference “Political memories, borders and memorial tourism” on April 28 and 29. The seminar is one of the activities of the European project MEFRO – Memories of the European Borders, led by the European Observatory on Memories of the University of Barcelona’s Solidarity Foundation and the University of Perpignan Via Domitia (UPVD).
Nicolas Marty, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities of UPVD, will open the conference with a presentation of the project that currently comprises nine organizations and research groups in France, Germany, Slovenia and Spain. The network aims to promote the transfer and exchange of knowledge in the field of memorial tourism at the borders, which concentrates most of the difficulties hampering the history, memory and heritage of modern Europe.
