La participaci\u00f3n ciudadana se ha convertido en uno de los ejes de intervenci\u00f3n sobre estos espacios. Su ausencia, ya sea en el impulso o la reivindicaci\u00f3n del lugar como en la planificaci\u00f3n de la intervenci\u00f3n, condiciona su futuro. Por otro lado, en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os se ha generado una creciente demanda tur\u00edstica hacia estos espacios que cabe analizar, no s\u00f3lo a qu\u00e9 razones obedece esta demanda sino tambi\u00e9n los efectos y consecuencias positivas o negativas que produce (creaci\u00f3n de nuevos circuitos culturales, banalizaci\u00f3n del discurso, masificaci\u00f3n, etc.). Estas cuestiones se han dirimido especialmente sobre espacios con una carga memorial singular: espacios donde han tenido lugar episodios traum\u00e1ticos y de duelo (mausoleos, cementerios, fosas comunes, etc.) y que han requerido una intervenci\u00f3n pol\u00edtica o \u00abnecropol\u00edtica\u00bb. El continente europeo est\u00e1 lleno de estos espacios que se mueven entre la peregrinaci\u00f3n contemplativa, la conmemoraci\u00f3n y el turismo. Sin embargo, surgen dudas sobre su rol en la sociedad actual en funci\u00f3n del peso que ha tenido (o tiene) la ciudadan\u00eda en el proceso de creaci\u00f3n de estos espacios y el contrapunto que supone al dirigismo pol\u00edtico del Estado en todas sus variantes. La transversalidad de estos planteamientos requiere estudios comparativos que distingan pautas comunes e idiosincrasias particulares entre diferentes casos que afectan a Espa\u00f1a y a Europa (y no s\u00f3lo).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Patrimonios inc\u00f3modos es un proyecto del Observatorio Europeo de Memorias de la Fundaci\u00f3n Solidaridad de la Universidad de Barcelona que propone como eje de trabajo el estudio comparativo de determinados mausoleos, espacios de duelo y de represi\u00f3n, repartidos por Europa, sitios de conmemoraci\u00f3n p\u00fablica y peregrinaci\u00f3n, su proceso de conversi\u00f3n en lugares de memoria y el an\u00e1lisis de c\u00f3mo les afecta el creciente turismo cultural.
