DESCRIPTION:Our book Ventotene 80.The 80th anniversary of the Draft Manifesto for a Free and United Europe is the starting point for a conversation on the future of the European Union in the framework of the Jean Monnet Chair of European Law-Supranational Democracy at the Universitá di Salento;\n Published in 2021\, the book seeks to give a deeper insight into the democratic and foundational values of the Union and analyses the role of the Ventotene Manifesto on post-war European integration;\nThe event “The long road to European integration. From the courage of the founders to the challenges of the present” will take place on January 20 at 5:30 p.m. at the University of Salento\, and will count with the participation of Michele Fiorillo (Scuola Normale Superiore – Civico Europa/Citizens Take Over Europe) and Debora Righetti (Maison Jean Monnet – European Parliament)\, co-organizers of the book.
