Debate on the contemporary uses of the symbols of repression of European recent past

In this article published on August, 5, 2016 at Diari ARA, Jordi Guixé proposes arguments for widening the debate on the contemporary uses of symbols of the atrocities of the past.  The director of the European Observatory on Memories of the University of Barcelona’s Solidarity Foundation (EUROM)  analyses some European examples to explain why the reinterpretation of memorial, artistic and conflictual heritage is one of the most effective ways of transmission of the past.
