The Second Spanish Republic was the democratic regime that existed in Spain from 1931 to 1939. It was proclaimed on 14 April 1931, after the abdication of Alfonso XIII, until the end of the Spanish Civil War. On 1 April 1939, the Nationalists established a military dictatorship under the rule of Francisco Franco.
The City Council fo Barcelona helds a festive program to celebrate the Republican Spring. Among the acts there is a Tribute to Isabel Vicente on April 12, organized by the EUROM in collaboration with the Platform For the Future Monument of the Women’s Prison of Les Corts and the District of Gràcia.
